Free Pattern - Crocheted Poppy Flower Coasters

This pattern was a spawn of my original flower coaster pattern. I like this one a bunch, but don't think I have the patience to make an entire set of them.

Poppy Coaster:

Using black yarn and a 3.75mm hook:
R1: MR, sc 7 in ring
R2: 2 sc each st
R3: sl st the entire row
Switch to red
R4: working into top loops of previous round (not the sl sts) sc each st
R5: sc, 2 sc
R6: (sc next 2 sts, 2 sc next st)
R7: (sc next 3 sts, 2 sc next st)
R8: Even
R9: Even
R10: (Sl st, 4 dc next st, sc next st, 4 dc next st, skip next st, sl st next 2 sts) Repeat, BO weave end in

Using Perle Cotton embroider details, finishing each line off with a French knot. Using the red yarn, embroider the lines that separate each petal. Sew poppy to black felt, cut felt around flower.

Yarn I used:
Red: Red Heart Soft Yarn – Cherry Red
Black: Caron Simply Soft - Black

I don't mind if you want to sell coasters made from this pattern to your family, friends, at your local craft scene or even online. But please give me credit! Thank you!!

Very cool. I love it. Would be nice to give to people on Veteran's Day (or Remembrance Day, as we call it in Canada). Thanks for sharing it.
