Free Pattern - Crocheted Poppy Flower Coasters

This pattern was a spawn of my original flower coaster pattern. I like this one a bunch, but don't think I have the patience to make an entire set of them.

Poppy Coaster:

Using black yarn and a 3.75mm hook:
R1: MR, sc 7 in ring
R2: 2 sc each st
R3: sl st the entire row
Switch to red
R4: working into top loops of previous round (not the sl sts) sc each st
R5: sc, 2 sc
R6: (sc next 2 sts, 2 sc next st)
R7: (sc next 3 sts, 2 sc next st)
R8: Even
R9: Even
R10: (Sl st, 4 dc next st, sc next st, 4 dc next st, skip next st, sl st next 2 sts) Repeat, BO weave end in

Using Perle Cotton embroider details, finishing each line off with a French knot. Using the red yarn, embroider the lines that separate each petal. Sew poppy to black felt, cut felt around flower.

Yarn I used:
Red: Red Heart Soft Yarn – Cherry Red
Black: Caron Simply Soft - Black

I don't mind if you want to sell coasters made from this pattern to your family, friends, at your local craft scene or even online. But please give me credit! Thank you!!

Free Pattern - Crocheted Flower Coasters

I made this pattern originally because I messed up another pattern I was working on and didn't want the work to go to waste. So here they are...flower coasters for your viewing pleasure!

Using a 3.75 mm hook

Flower:
R1 Make an adjustable ring, sc 7 in ring (7)
R2 2 sc each st (14)
R3 (sc next st, 2 sc next st) repeat (21)
R4 (sc next 2 sts, 2 sc next st) repeat (28)
R5 (sc next 3 sts, 2 sc next st) repeat (35)
R6 Inc 1 (36)
R7 even, BO weave in end
With Petal color:
(sc, 4 dc next st, skip next st, sc) repeat

Leaf:
You will be essentially crocheting an oval. After you chain 8, work your stitches in one side of the chain. After you turn work your stitches in the other half of the chain.
R1 Chain 8, turn
R2 dc in third ch from hook, dc, tc, tc, dc, 3 dc in last st, turn, dc, tc, tc, dc, dc, sc, ch 1, BO leaving long tail to sew to coaster.

The rounded side will be sewn to the coaster, the pointed side makes the tip of the leaf. Weave in the tail until you get to the part of the leaf that will be sewn and attach it to the flower. Try to work your stitches from the back side of the coaster only.

I don't mind if you use this pattern to sell items to your family, friends, at your local craft scene or even online. But please give me credit! Thank you!!
